Review: New L’Oréal Infallible Total Cover

Happy New Year everyone! I hope your 2017 has started off well. I took a short break but I’m ready to dive right back in to my reviews.

For the past week or so I have been testing out L’Oréal’s newest foundation: the Infallible Total Cover ($12.99). Quick side note: I purchased this foundation off of Amazon from L’Oréal for $10.99. I suspect it will be sold at drugstores at $12.99 which is the same price point as the Infallible Pro Matte and Pro Glow.

The packaging for this foundation is longer and slimmer than the Pro Matte/Glow. The tube opening is much smaller. The product itself is much thicker in consistency than either the Pro Matte/Glow, it’s actually a bit odd in texture. It’s mousse-like and almost feels like it will bunch up. However, once applied it’s a beautiful foundation.

I prefer to apply it with my Morphe M439, which is a dense buffing brush, and then buff out any imperfections with a damp BeautyBlender. I find if I apply it directly with a BeautyBlender it really thins out the coverage. I find this foundation can be built up to full coverage, but I’d really say it’s medium buildable coverage.

The foundation claims to be weightless and 24/hr wear. I find the foundation to be light for a high pigment foundation, but I wouldn’t call it weightless. While this foundation lasts longer on my skin than the Pro Matte or Pro Glow, I definitely wouldn’t say 24/hr. It lasted about 8 hours before it started to break up, which is actually pretty impressive for me. I have combo skin so after a few hours my foundation normally breaks up around my nose, and this one was still mostly there at the end of the night.

So: if you have the Pro Matte and the Pro Glow is this worth buying?

Yes. I actually prefer the Total Cover over the previous two. The Pro Matte is too matte for me, and the Pro Glow is beautiful but doesn’t wear very long. This one doesn’t exaggerate my skin imperfections and lasts the whole night. I find that mixing in a little bit of the Pro Glow makes this foundation a little more natural looking, but it’s great either way.

What do you want to see me review next? Let me know in the comments!

xoxo, Jenna

Update: I forgot to include that I am in shade 301, the lightest shade. Right now there are only 12 shades with only two catering towards deeper skin tones. I hope they expand the shade range soon!

Tati on YouTube also reviewed it. I want to try it for myself as well. Been hearing mixed reviews. I’ve yet to find an actual full coverage that beats the milani conceal and perfect.
