Milani Color Statement Lipsticks Review and Swatches

In an era of the super matte liquid lipsticks, sometimes it can be hard to find an everyday, regular lipstick that doesn’t dry out your lips. I’ve found my favorite drugstore lipstick that fits the bill: the Milani Color Statement Lipsticks ($6).

These aren’t the bulletproof, matte lips that are on trend right now, but they are the perfect lipsticks to throw on to go to school, work, the grocery store, wherever you aren’t feeling like going full glam. Honestly, you could even wear them on full glam days, you would just need to touch up here and there.

I have the shades 26 Nude Creme,  42 Rose Femme and 40 Cabaret Blend (Swatched in that order below).

Nude Creme is my go-to nude lipstick. It’s a perfect shade for everyday looks. Rose Femme is a beautiful neutral rose shade, perfect for days where I’m feeling like adding a little more color. Cabaret Blend is an amazing deep plum red, absolutely stunning for Fall and Winter (even though I love a dark red all year round). There are 32 shades in the original formula, and 24 shades in the matte formula (which I haven’t tried yet).

The formula on these is super comfortable and moisturizing, while still lasting throughout the day. I find I do need to touch up after I eat and they are not transfer proof, but that’s to be expected.

I absolutely love these, and I’m pretty picky about lipsticks. I have a problem with chapped lips and these don’t dry them out or emphasize dry spots. Also, the price point is awesome. Definitely Jenna approved.

What’s your favorite lipstick formula? Let me know in the comments!

xoxo, Jenna

I’m pretty picky about my lipsticks too and felt like these were great for the cost and for everyday use. I haven’t tried a lot of lipstick brands but two in particular I like is Anastastia Beverley Hills and Sugarpill.

    1. I haven’t tried Sugarpill yet! When it comes to regular lipsticks, I really like Bite Beauty and MAC and when it comes to liquid I love Jeffree Star and Ofra. I am not a fan of the liquid Milani lipsticks, they were too drying. But I love these!
