January Ipsy Glam Bag Review

One of the things I really look forward to each month is getting my Ipsy Glam Bag. Ipsy is a makeup subscription, so I pay $10/month and each month I received a makeup bag with five items in it (usually sample/travel size, but sometimes you get full size items). Each person’s glam bag is catered to their specific preferences, which you can change on your Ipsy account at any time.

Here are the items I got, each paired with a mini review:

Sally’s Box Loverecipe AcaiBerry Mask & Loverecipe Aloe Mask – I definitely enjoyed these. They are your standard sheet masks, but they smelled great and left my skin feeling soft. I love face masks so these were definitely a hit for me.

Manna Kadar Cosmetics Paradise Blush – Unfortunately, I wasn’t crazy about this blush. It was too bright on my pale complexion. It also had a gold sheen to it, and I personally prefer matte blushes.  I might try this out as an eyeshadow, but the color just didn’t work for me. I think this blush would be beautiful on deeper skin tones.

SLMissGlam Blend Beauty Brush L34 – This brush is super cute and works well. It blends my eyeshadow out flawlessly. My only complaint has nothing to do with the product – the SLMissGlam website looks like it’s still under construction and I find it’s a little hard to navigate. This brush isn’t for sale individually, and the brush sets are a little steep in price.

Rimmel London Lip Conditioning Balm by Kate Moss – This is pretty much your average lip balm. It smells like peaches and works just fine, but $5.49 is a bit much for a basic balm if you ask me. I prefer the Maybelline Baby Lips which is $1 less, and frankly, works much better at combating dry lips.

Naked Cosmetics Mica Pigment in Desert Sunset #02 – This was the most exciting thing in my Glam Bag this month! I was so excited to try this – I love to put a pop of shimmer in my eyeshadow looks, and this color is absolutely stunning. I just spray some MAC Fix+ on a flat synthetic brush and use that to apply this pigment to the middle of my eyelid and it looks beautiful. I just wish their website was a little bit more user friendly!

What did you get in your glam bag this month? Let me know in the comments!

xoxo, Jenna
